How we list schools

What DanceFind is

DanceFind is a curated guide to dance schools in Australia and the United States. It is built on the premise that parents and prospective students should be able to find verified, legitimate studios without wading through link farms, dead businesses, and unverifiable claims.

We do not take payment from schools, sell sponsored placements, or accept kickbacks for referrals. Listings are alphabetical within their scope, and every active school receives the same Verified credential.

The three-point standard

For a school to appear as an active listing on DanceFind, it must clear three checks. A failure on any one moves the school to our internal draft state, where it is tracked but not published.

1. Official website

The school must have its own website that is currently live and resolves correctly. Social-media-only studios, parked domains, and pages that redirect to an unrelated business do not pass. A school that exists in directories but has no presence of its own remains on our internal watch list and does not appear publicly.

2. Verified street address

The school must publish — on its own site or on a credible third-party listing — a real street address. A suburb plus a postcode is not enough; we require an address that a parent could walk or drive to. Studios that operate from rotating venues without a consistent base are tracked but not listed.

3. Cross-checked against a second source

The school's existence at that address must be corroborated by at least one independent credible source: a Yelp listing, a Google Business page with reviews, a Mindbody or ClassPass integration, an industry-body affiliation (RAD, Cecchetti, Comdance), an official chamber of commerce or tourism site, or similar third-party verification. A single source is not enough.

What the Verified credential means

Every school page on DanceFind displays a Verified credential with the date it was last checked:

The date is when the verification standard was last applied to that specific school — not a generic site-wide stamp. Schools are re-checked over time. If a school's website goes dark, its second-source listings disappear, or its address conflicts across sources, the school moves to our internal draft state and is removed from the public site.

What we don't claim

We don't rank schools by quality, suitability, or anything else. Listings are alphabetical within each scope — the homepage, each city, each suburb. Every active school carries the same credential. There is no premium tier, featured slot, or paid placement.

We don't endorse particular studios. We confirm that they meet our verification floor. Choosing the right school for a child or for yourself is a judgement we leave to the people doing the choosing.

We don't take money from schools to list them, alter their description, or improve their position. DanceFind is not commercial in that sense.

If you run a dance school that meets the three-point standard and is not listed, write to us at hello@dancefind.com.au. We will add it to the research queue.

If a listing is wrong

Every school page carries a Suggest an edit link at the bottom — a pre-addressed email with the school name already in the subject line. Use it if anything is out of date, wrong, or missing.
